Haematuria
Haematuria: This is basically blood in the urine and can also be spelled haematuria. Blood in the urine can be quite scary and needs to be diagnosis by a physician but it is quite rare for this to be a sign of something that is life-threatening.
If you see any red blood in the urine, if the urine has turned brownish or reddish because it has some red blood cells in it you need to speak with your primary care physician. Often, urine can contain a small amount of blood that is not visible to the untrained eye, and only is apparent in a lab test where urine is being tested for something else. This will still need to be studied by the doctor as urine that is healthy should not contain any detectable sums of blood.
This blood can come from anywhere in the urinary system – the bladder, kidneys, or tubes where the urine passes. It is usually the outcome of a urinary system infection for instance cystitis.
An individual should not self-diagnose their problem so it is vital to see your physician for a diagnosis that is properly done by a professional.
