Epiphyseal Cartilage: This cartilage is located midway between the main shaft of long bone and the rounded end of the bone. This cartilage continues to grow since cartilage is needed for continuing bone growth. When bone growth stops this cartilage disappears. This is also referred to as the growth plate.
