In medicine, the term disorder refers to functional disturbance or abnormality without structural changes. Examples of physical disorders: lactose intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, diabetes mellitus type 2, hyperaldosteronism, phenylketonuria. Examples of psychological disorders: anorexia nervosa, bipolar disorder, depersonalization disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder.
